Returning from parental leave

School or education-based psychologist
Supplement your school-based work with 1–2 days per week in private practice, accessing clinical assessment caseload aligned with what you already do.
Seeking assessment-focused work
Already working in another private practice but wanting additional assessment caseload without the overhead of building referral pathways yourself.
Transitioning toward independent practice
Moving toward portfolio-based or independent practice and wanting to reduce overhead while maintaining access to strong, established referral demand.

You retain complete autonomy over your clinical work, caseload decisions, client relationships, and clinical records. This is your practice.

Full fee schedule and service agreement details are provided to shortlisted applicants. The contractor arrangement is structured to deliver strong income relative to comparable salaried or employed roles, with all administrative and practice overhead covered by the service fee.

CAYA Psychology has an established waitlist for psychological assessment and ongoing demand for paediatric and counselling services.
- 2–3+ years post-graduate experience in private practice
- Strong psychological assessment skills and experience
- Experience working with schools, teachers, and educational systems
- Background in Educational & Developmental Psychology or Neuropsychology (desirable)
- Confidence working independently in a private practice setting
- Endorsement or postgraduate training in relevant areas (preferred)
- Psychological assessment with a strong paediatric focus
- Neurodevelopmental and educational presentations
- Developmental assessments across childhood and adolescence
- Counselling and therapy with children, adolescents, and families (optional extension)
- Collaborative work with schools and paediatric referrers

I'm a Registered Psychologist based in Geelong with more than 12 years of full-time clinical experience working with kids, teens, and adults.
That's more than 8,000 hours of therapy & assessment.
Which means I've seen most of the ways a private practice can thrive — and most of the ways it quietly goes off track.
This opportunity exists because I've built referral pipelines, systems, and a clinical reputation that generates more demand than one practitioner can meet. I'm looking for someone who wants to do serious clinical work in a well-supported environment, without spending years building it themselves.
Joe is a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor and offers supervision to registrars and provisional psychologists. Practitioners joining CAYA Psychology have the option to access supervision directly through the practice.
